Our Story
Byron-hinterland ceramics was founded in 2022 by Elaine Richter, a passionate ceramic artist who relocated to Byron Bay to focus on her artistic endeavors. Since then, Elaine has expanded on her product line to include a wide variety of handmade ceramic pieces.
Our Process
Byron-hinterland pieces are all handcrafted, and each item is unique. Elaine takes great pride with attention to detail and the high quality of her work.

At Byron-hinterland, we believe in sustainability and ethical production practices in the creation of beautiful, functional pieces that bring joy to our customers. We strive to minimise our environmental impact directly through water harvesting, clay recycling & minimal energy consumption during our pottery firings. We proudly support our local Bangalow community along with the regional North Coast Ceramics Association.
